Tramagenna Gallery

Jude Goss of Lucian Stained Glass has been making and restoring stained glass windows and doors for over 25 years.

Jude and her husband Nigel are based just outside Camelford, Cornwall, and opened Tramagenna Gallery in June 2021, it showcases their passion for creating beautiful bespoke pieces of sculpture using wood and glass, leaded stained glass collages, fused glass art, and hangings. The stained glass pieces also incorporate salvaged fragments of original painted church windows which add a unique element to their designs.

In addition to Glass sculptures and window hanging pieces Lucian Stained Glass offer commissions for internal and external windows, so come along to Tramagenna Gallery for a consultation and see what we can offer, we also offer repairs and restoration for any old or damaged panels.

Recent additions to the range of garden sculptures now include the use of local stone and incorporating glass into standing sculptures.

The Gallery also features local artists work which includes Photography and Jewellery capturing the beauty of North Cornwall.

These windows have just been delivered for repair / rebuild and restoration. They are the 2 side windows from the Chapel in Ley. Im currently restoring the 2 original 1890’s figurative windows , one of which will go back in as the top section of the central window ( I’ve also built a new bottom section using glass from other old windows from the chapel).

Today was my last One Day Stained Glass Taster course of 2024. A great fun day full of laughter and chat with 5 wonderful students and LOOK what they made!!!!!! In 2024 I have taught a total of 84 people over 21 One Day Taster courses. Just picked up these beauties to be restored/repaired/repainted. They date back to 1890’s and were originally in a Chapel in Ley, nr St.Neot, they were removed in the 1980’s and have been in someone’s garage for 40 years, the owners of the Chapel have bought them back and want to put them back into the Chapel, one will go in the central window. Also some insitu repairs to be done at some point.

I’ve just fitted this commission this morning , this fan light is for Rob and Nat at #chandlerslodge B&B,Camelford, made to match some of their existing stained glass and featuring their logo. With the exception of the red border and the centre circle, which will be painted and fired in my kiln, the glass is all original reclaimed C19 from a panel I removed from a house in Henleaze ,Bristol and the blue circle around the centre is from a panel from the Greek Orthodox Church, Bristol. This all ties in as we all used to live in Bristol. It looks like it’s always been there. #lucianstainedglass #tramagennagallery #chandlerslodge

Today I ran a bespoke 1-2-1 course on repair and restoration of old original stained glass panels. My student had bought lots of C19 windows in crittle ( metal ) frames that he wanted to restore and use as windows in a conservatory he is building. We removed the panels from the frames, stripped the glass from the more damaged windows to use to repair the other panels, so all original glass was used. Great day, very satisfied student and good fun

This morning the stained glass windows that I designed and made for the Memorial Clock Tower in St.Teath were unveiled. These were commissioned by the Parish Council and paid for through private donations. #i am very proud to have been asked to make them and that they are now part of the village history. They are to be shown on BBC Spotlight tonight at 6.30.

I got hold of 2 little old original pieces of stained glass from an old house in the Lake District..(see the third picture) They were damaged and broken but still had the original painted rondel with the name MILL HILL. I have restored and repaired and framed them.

I recently had this original Georgian lead fan light frame from a Georgian house in Frome,Somerset brought into the studio to be repaired and cleaned. Sadly all the original glass was broken as was some of the lead so I had to cut new glass for it all. The complete doorframe had to be rebuilt and I went to the joiners workshop to face putty the glass into the new wooden frame. The new door frame was re fitted into the building last week.
